ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK ! ! !

.

"ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK !!!" is the renown cheer of the University of Kansas where my daughter Erin went to school and was also a student athlete. Erin who is 24, is two years removed from her graduation and still lives in Lawrence, Kansas, home of the university. Finally, after numerous close calls in the last six years, the Jayhawks won the National NCAA Men's Basketball Championship last night in as exciting game as could be. It seemed at this time every year since Erin was a freshman she has held hope for celebrating a national championship only to have her hopes dashed. Last night immediately after the championship game she called me with the greatest excitement in her voice as she informed me she was heading down town to celebrate and enjoy a once in a lifetime experience with all the rest of the Jayhawk faithful.

I wouldn't have thought to post this account with photos except Joian sent me this E-mail message after seeing the pics. Such sentiments as these is why I so treasure my dearest and closest friend ever.

Oh Jack, there is certainly a blog for this one……….featuring Erin………and the wonderful moments we have in life that crowd out all the hideous for a moment………and if you can be that out of it for a basketball game then what lies ahead……..what capacity we have…………to celebrate the good things………..looks like the end of WWII…………..

Every face with a different way to express the emotion…………just loved it………
